Mass drop-off with llPushObject

I would like someone to explain in more detail the rate at which push strength decreases proportional to the mass of an object, so i can cancel out the effects of object mass and have all objects push with the same strength. I've already cancelled out the range drop off so that isn't a problem.

llPushObject is (or at least *was* two months ago) profoundly broken, and tends to malfunction at the drop of a hat. I have a cannon that fires ... where it feels like firing, at whatever velocity seems convenient at the time. The "leaping from a cake" script was also a complete failure of a similar flavour.
