Does anyone know if there is a maximum possible wind speed? What's the range? Can't find any info re this on wiki.

I don't know, but here's a thread-link to discussions about SL winds and weather:

I'm pretty sure their is a maximum potential wind speed, I have not looked at what that would be though, based on the algorithm used to generate wind speed data. The cut off for windspeed seems to be around 31 mps. I have over a years worth of wind data collected and the highest I have ever recorded was around 30.8 mps. Let me know if you have any other weather releatd questions IM me inworld, it's one of my favorite subjects, unfortunatly not many others in Sl are quite as thrilled about fake wind as us :}

Thanks Cid, I've only been observing for one day, the highest number I've seen so far is around 15, being the result of
CODE

llVecMag(llWind(<0,0,0>))

But how does this figure relate to the MPS figure you mention? I assume MPS is metres per second.

llVecMag(llWind(ZERO_VECTOR)); returns a float value in the form of meters per second, didn't mean to confuse you.
