So I probably already know the answer to this, but I might as well ask on the off chance that someone knows a workaround. Is there any way to have a particle larger than the 4 meter limit?
I ask only because I need to use a simple particle effect for an engine exhaust. It's not meant to be annoyingly large, nor will it leave particle litter behind it (it follows the emitter very closely). The 4 meter limit is just not big enough to cover the port and having multiple emitters would look awful...

Can't say I've seen any emitters over 4m nor is there any (obvious) method of circumventing the limit in a script. Multiple emitters may be your only option. It should be possible to make a decent multiple emitter particle effect but it all hinges upon what you're looking for.
Best of luck,
nand

If you know what your doing multple emitters can work well togeather...
Jopsy runs a particle instruction place.. Visit there..
I used to have issues with particles untill i learned the proper way to do em.. instead of a template.

Oh yes, I've been camping out in the Particle Lab for a while now, it's great!
However the particles I want to emitt will be textured. Breaking that up could feasibly allow me to increase the displayed size, but because the emitters will be attached to something in motion, the effect will be ruined when the craft (or camera for that matter) rolls and turns...
As I understand it anyway. I'll spend another evening at the Lab looking more into it. Thanks for the input!
