Hi There, I'm know this may sound like a daft question about how do I use a sensor in an object to detect an avatar and make the object say something. I've tried different approaches like llSensor and llSensorRepeat and followed examples but I'm not sure how it to use properly I think. Is there any special event handler I need to use?

There are dozens (probally hundreds) of free examples out. Have you looked in the wiki or even searched this forum? Post the sample script you are using and I' sure someone will show you your error.

Try this wiki-page - it provides a lot of good examples and explains the detection cones pretty well... http://www.lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=llSensor

You might also search on a string like "greeter". People often leave "greeter" objects at their shops or other sites to welcome guests and give them a bit of info.
