Looking for hints for making a laser beam using the particle system. I've seen some in-game, so I know it can be done. I just haven't quite figured out how.
I could try to use a lot of tiny, slow moving, fast emitted particles, but that really seems like too many particles flying around.
Maybe a particle with a really big X and a small Y (or vice-versa), and a radius about equal to X/2 so it will still look like it came out of the emitter?
Any ideas/hint/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's not something I regularly do, but a big Y, tiny X, follow target and rotate to follow velocity ought to get you somewhere close.
Sadly the wiki's been suspended (why won't LL support the wiki for their own scripting language?) but that sort of a set up should be a start if you can find a working mirror.

Thank you.I'll give that a try next time I'm in-game.

Most beans are phantom prims AKA for guns You could also do what most do for leashes and just pust a ton of parts. the problem is distance the parts will start to seperate. EDIT: if you making a gun peole do the starwars and res a moving glowing object thats teh beam color.. its gotta collide to do damage
