I have some items I am selling that change a parameter in a prim. I'd prefer not to give permissions to modify this item, but cannot seem to get the script to work for other people except if I give modify permission to the next owner.
So here's the question. Is it possible to write something that bypasses this?
An additional question, if there is a permisson problem with this script, why isn't there an error message?

No, there's no way around it. However, I heard from Kelly that scripts really SHOULD be letting you change a primitive's parameters, even in no-modify objects, so it's a planned change. Or so I was told about two builds ago.

I'm confused, I make things all the time that recolor themselves, change shape, etc, with copy only and they work fine.

The usual llSetColor and such work, I believe. llSetPrimitiveParams, however, does not.
