Sending IM to offline group members

I have received messages in the past from groups I belong to notifying me of something or other. I believe these caught up to me when I logged on.

I'd like to be able to do a similar thing, as a group owner notify members of my group about something or other regardless of whether or not they are on line.

I tried using IM, but the message only seems to be transmitted when the user is on line. Is there a way around this?

Not scripted; access from LSL to any of the group functionality is woefully limited. What you're looking for isn't group IMs, but rather group Notices, which members in properly authorized roles can send from Edit | Groups | Info | Notices tab | Create New Notice (and Send or Apply or something like that).

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. I like the fact that you can include an attachment.
