Is there some super secret way to have an object issue an llSay that goes into an open IM window instead of going into open chat?

Not with LSL there isn't. Even llInstantMessage shows up in the general chat window, instead of in an IM tab. You could do what you're asking with a bot, but that's not LSL.

Keeping in mind that llInstantMessage shows up in the general chat window, but only in the recipient's chat window. No one else can see it.

Yeah, but it's not particularly secret, it's llInstantMessage. It doen't 'go into' an IM window, and is not received via an IM window, it's received in the general chat (of the recipient only) and it shows up green, no white. It's the best you can do, the syntax is:

llInstantMessage (key avatar, string message);

If you want to keep the message separate from the chat window, how about using a dialog? E.g.:

CODE

llDialog( avatar, "This is the secret message", ["OK"], -123456789 );

You can replace the channel number with anything you like, since you won't need to listen for it. Also, the "OK" is just there because LSL complains if you don't provide at least one button.
