I am moving an object using llMoveToTarget and want to figure out how make smooth sweeping right or left turns of different degrees at certain points along the path. Would someone point me figuratively in the right direction?

It might be better to use physics, and let SL compute the smooth turn. In other words, set a timer, and each time it fires, give your object a push in the direction you want it to go. I think the function is llApplyImpulse().

To put it another way, make your object a flying thing, or maybe even a vehicle.
