What scripts are used to make a splash or mist on waterfalls? I know goo is one but what other's are there?

there is always the one you make yourself. im fond of that one. the particle lab in teal is a great place to learn how to make particle effects.

sorry if thats not the answer you want, i tend to make my own effects, and that isnt a very hard one to do, hardest part is finding/making a good texture for the particles.

There are some basic waterfall textures and scripts in the Library (in your Inventory window) under Textures. You'll want to make a particle system for the mist. A custom texture can help reduce particle count a lot. You might ask Eddie Escher - he has an attractive and low-lag particle system for waterfalls that he was offering to folks recently.

You can get good effects of flowing water by animating textures on prims. Layering an animated transparent texture over a solid static texture can look really good. But be careful, because transparent and alpha texture animation can be very demanding on clients.
