Hi I was reading that there is some sort of scripting certification. Where would someone get this training and find out when classess are held or any other solid trainings that are held semi-regularly? I have been joining a few scripting groups but recieved no notifications as of yet of when they do anything.

I've never heard of such a thing-- no one that I know has such a specification. With the smallish population of scripters in SL, such a certification is rather... unnecessary, and wouldn't really help. The MCSE comes to mind-- people take that, get a job, and have no idea what they're doing.
Here's my advice: Script stuff, sell stuff, post stuff on this forum, and contribute to the wiki. Eventually it will become general knowledge that you're good at scripting.
Having many complex and interesting problems solved is more impressive than having a certification that many have never heard of.
Don't seek the certificates-- seek the skills.
