Collisions don't collide

I've been working on a Pinata script. I want the Pinata to detect collisions from a stick attached to an AV. I can get the Pinata to detect collisions from the AV but not the stick. when I tried reversing it to see if I could get the stick to detect collision with the Pinata it detected only AV collisions but executed the "stick" script. I was wondering if the attachment detection was limited by the AV bounding box. Is there anyone with experience in this area that could assist me

Thanks in advance

It's limited to the avatar's bounding box. Most people have their melee weapons rez short-lived projectiles to do collisions.
