Hi, this isn't a technical question, but i've been scripting thing off and on for a couple of months and I've never managed to have much susses selling my work. And even less finding people interested in hiring a script for their projects.
In that time i've made several scripts. Multiple animation sit script, with copy enabled for retailers. A two avatar animation seat that responded to each others pose, a dance bracelet, smart hair (change hair color on command from a user created list of colors), a two person drum, and other random things. A hug ball that fallow the avatar around.
But they never seem to generate much if any interest. I was wondering how other people successfully market and promote their scripts. And any other general tips, and strategy.

Multiple animation sit script, with copy enabled for retailers. I don't know exactly what that means, but I know I'd love to have a way to use the sit poses you can have in furniture be used anywhere in the world when I sit, especially if it was in a bracelet or something so that I could change the way I'm sitting based on my mood! _____________________

Far as I know you can already do that with francis chung's animation over ride script, using diffrent note card. Is there some thing specific that it dosen't do that you want it to do?
That or you could use a regular dance braclet. Just filll it up with sits. |

it was a chair, that you could sit on, and by clicking or cretin voice command you could change the animation. And even change the position of the sit ball.

I have had more than just a little success selling my drum scripts. In fact, they are my biggest money maker in Second Life.
The one thing that has helped the most with sales, besides having a lot filled with working drums, is I host a class just about every week in how to use the scripts. - Ace _____________________

I have a couple projects that will need various scripts, IM me in game and we might be able to work together.
Visability and cost are very important issues for sales. Make sure your products are in many locations and not in the back corner! Make sure you are charging a low enough rate to make it affordable by the average player. It is very hard to not charge $1000 for something hand made, but charging less will get you more sales and make you more money in the long run. offer info on each script, since they are typically no mod its hard for a buyer to know whats they are buying without detailed info. Like mentioned above place an ad in the classified and hold events every so often offering discounts and give aways. Remember a happy customer can send you many more. O ya don't forget to leave landmarks givers at each location! |
