I'm a builder, not a scripter. I can hack a script to get it to do what I want, and I can write simple scripts, but when it gets into complex things, I just tend to get frustrated, and cranky.
For the last 4 months or so, I've been selling jet-packs "powered by X-Flight 1.98e". Today I found the post by the author of X-Flight, "stating his preference" that X-Flight not be used. The copy of the script I acquired did not have any statements to this effect contained inside.. and the post was over a year old.. but I'll try to comply nonetheless.
I'm trying to find a replacement "engine".. and I'm hoping to add some improvements to the packs I currently sell. My jetpacks are little more than attractive/fun models wrapped around a script. The selling point for most people is just the formfactor. But nonetheless, I'm looking to upgrade while I have them open. I have had nothing but compliments on the way the X-Flight 1.98e script was functioning in the packs.. and I really don't wish to have my products crippled by this author's sudden burst of "if I can't play, you can't use my ball".
Modern (2006) era jetpacks seem to include, routinely, the ability to "fly in no fly zones". I'm very curious to find a way to add this, as I feel it is "the state of the art". I also have acquired the rights to a "platform walker" which I hope to add to the units as an optional feature. I have purchased the Ninja CyberFlight script.. so that's a starting point, I guess.. being open source.
Any suggestions or ideas for any of this.. would be gratefully entertained.

Winter, try talking to my brother, Cloud Shackle, he is a master scriptor and can do practically ANYTHING in SL, as well as make amazing ships. He has an anti-grav script that he could help you with.
Xairete!

It's simple matter of llMoveTo() based attachment (or similar) which doesn't observe AV's 'flying' state to trigger its active state. For better appearance it'll probably have to override the 'falling' animation which starts playing when AV is in the air with flying turned on but that's about it ^^;
