i'm trying to get the anim smooth script usually used for waterfalls etc. to display a texture that has words on it, such that is looks like the words are running along the screen like a bulletin... how do you control the direction the text flows?

Look in the library portion of your inventory for "waterfall". Poking around in the library will yield some interesting finds, including the "anim_smooth" script you're looking for.

You can't control the direction. I believe the texture flows right to left like a normal ticker. If you need the text to flow left to right, like arabic news tickers, then you may have to render a specially formatted texture. Try rendering the texture upside down, then flip the prim upside down. That's a guess but basically, you have to design the texture to work for the direction of the smooth anim function.

Try the REVERSE flag instead of a negative speed.
