Did LL slip in llGetInventoryCreator() in 1.6? It wasn't in the release notes, but it's pretty new in the wiki. I didn't keep the 1.5 LSL guide, so I can't refer back to check it out. By the way, does LL keep the old LSL guide versions around anywhere accessible?

I'm assuming llGetInventoryCreator() is new. Looks like this could be used to make an upgrade vendor. Have a former customer drop their no-copy/no-mod/trans item into a vendor, and it gives them an upgraded version, either for free or an additional charge. This was dangerous before, as anyone could create a box with the right name and get a free upgrade. Now you can check to see if it was something you made yourself, and if it's no-mod they can't change the name so you know it's the correct item. Nice possibilities!

[EDIT: oops, somehow I typed llGetInventoryOwner instead of llGetInventoryCreator]

I'm assuming you mean llGetInventoryCreator()?

This is an excellent idea for a use of this function.

Not exactly, someone could get something of yours that *was* mod, rename it, and give it no-mod. Then they've just fooled your vendor. :eek:

This was why I suggested they add the function :D
And yes it's new to 1.6

Along with llGetInventoryPermMask you can check the permissions on the object. Not only would they need a prim you made but they would have to match the permissions on it too. You know have a way of better securing inventory.

None of the fun fuctions made it in the release notes.
