Billboarding prims / textures?

Is there a way to get a billboarding effect (where the object always seems to face the viewer) in SL? The only idea I can think of is carefully abusing the particle system code to show one texture billboarded, but I'd like to billboard entire prims if possible.

You can use llLookAt() to billboard a prim for a single user.

it doesn't have to be an abuse of the particle system. Just make it so the particle has a long life and set hte purst count to 1 and the delay to just short of the life. Matter of fact it would be better for the sim then a billboard.
