Ok I have a flating text script, and I can make floating text all day, but I want to actually have the words show up "on" the face of the sign not floating over it.. What is the script to make the text actually show up ?

I would have thought the easiest way would have been to made an image and uploaded it as a texture to put on the face of the prim.
The file should be saved as a Targa (TGA) file, preferably small in size such as 256x256 pixels unless it's a big sign you're using. There may be better ways.... but that would be how I would do it. Lewis _____________________

Text on a prim... take a look at XyText. It's in the wiki here:
http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=xytext The basic idea with XyText is to have a texture with all the characters you might need on it and shift the texture to only show a small piece of the texture depending on what letter you want to show. There are two versions of XyText, one that allows 6 characters per prim and another that allows 3 characters per prim. I would suggest using the 3 characters per prim version, since it only uses one texture and I believe is better in terms of performance because of it. You could also build your own text system based on same principle as I know lots of people have. _____________________
