"Projecting" camera image

I'm pretty sure this is possible, I just can't be using the right search terms in the wiki. I want to project a camera image to a prim, preferably in real time or as close as I can get. Any suggestions on where I should look?

Thanks!

It's not possible entirely with SL or LSL.

You will need a special setup. Basically, you need an aux. SL account to use as your "camera". On the computer with that account, create a video stream which should be hosted on a remote stream server. Then, load that video stream as your land's media URL. When people are on your land, they will be able to see the view from your "camera avatar". It will be delayed by several seconds at least.

I was hoping for something a little simpler..it's not for a commercial product, just something I wanted to play with. Is this the only way?

are you talking about a real camera, like a web cam? if so you can host it offsite like Dote suggestted, but there is no need for an extra account.....

in fact you don't even need it with an inworld camera, assuming you can stand that everyone will see exactly what you see, by just aiming you web cam at your monitor (make sure the refresh rate is set well over 60hz on the monitor for best results).

if it's just for you, there are micro servers that you can set up through various apps, and then have your land url point to your own computer.... no one else will see it if you don't have somekind of outside access set up or if you use the loopback address of 127.0.0.1 for the IP
