Hello.
Is this posible and if so, how?
For a (club-)house, I would like to script a doorbell that sends an IM to the online group members that someone is standing at the door so that they can respond in person.
For this, I would like to send an IM to the group to which the object being touched is set.
Can this be done, and if so, how do I do this?
Many thanks for suggestions.
Bonicolli.

You can also make a notecard with all names you want to sent a IM too. When someone click the door all people on the notecard get a IM.
You can use llInstantMessage for sending IM's to every person on the notecard.
Benefit of this is you don't need a bot and you can also check if someone is online before sending a IM.

Using just LSL you could workaround this by manually adding the group members to a list, check which in the list are currently online (there's an example of this in the wiki somewhere) then send each an IM.
EDIT: yep basically what Kaylan says (I left this thread open in my browser from earlier then forgot to refresh the page before replying grr)
