I am trying to make a dog inworld and cannot figure out how to go about animating it. I can put a follow script in it, but i want it to walk as it follows. Anyone have any ideas or places for me to look? I also want to be able to tell it to do tricks.

There have been numerous discussions of this elsewhere in the Forums. Try a few searches.
Basically, you have to script each body part, left leg, right leg, head, body, tail, etc. Try this...make a script that says the position and rotation of the object it is in. Put one in each part of your dog. Put the dog in the Sit position, and record all the data. Put him in Play Dead, and record all the data.
Then, you need the body parts to go to that position and rotation when they hear you give the command.

I have tried multiple times to find anything about this in the forums - but have not been successful. Apparently the word "dog" is too short or too popular and is elimaned from my search every time.

hope not! NO they don't. Actually there are lots of these for sale out there already, if you just want one. (But, what fun is buying one?)

hope not! The object should be a linked set, yes. If it is not, then you have to use "open" channels to communicate the animation signals to all of the prims.
