OK, here goes. There has been extensive discussion of avatar gender, methods of determining, and social, moral and philosophical issues attendant thereupon. Last month Milambus Oh suggested* an open source project to develop a protocol for communicating gender and other personal information.

I liked the idea, and have been kicking it around since I saw it. Yesterday I sat down and worked out a basic protocol for storing and querying personal info, and a script to implement it. I'd now like to open it up for others to participate.

In addition to gender (which can have multiple values), this implementation includes age, language and body type. I especially want to get gender and body type worked out so that they serve the needs of most, if not all, Residents.

I've set up a dispenser in my private sandbox** with a package containing the scripts, documentation and my notes. You'll see it just as you TP in -- it has a picture of Bender and a parrot.
