Hi Gang
I would like to ask for help or a pointer to get a complex model I created flying. I didnt realise there's a 27 (i think) prim limit on what can fly. My model has about twice that in it. Someone mentioned I need a 'non physical' flight script - whatever that is? If that makes sense to you, and you either have one or can create one - please get in touch.

I have made a beautiful EVA Pod from the film "2001 a Space Odyssey". It needs to fly painfully slowly, but gracefuly. FLight controls themselves don't need to be complex. Forward, left/right, hover, and a little reverse would be good!

If you care to see it, the model is here: www.weblab.co.uk/pod/pod.png

I want to say thank you to the anonymous person who sent me a folder in-world with scripts for non-physical flight in it.

I accepted the folder before reading who it was from (silly me), and there were no further indications inside, so I lost the opportunity of noting the name.

Whoever you are, thank you indeed!

An alternative to using non-physical motion is to wear some of the prims as an attachment, that way you can get the object's prim count below 31 prims (which is the absolute max for enabling physics and avatars count so you need to deduct 1 prim for each avatar you wish to travel on the object, i.e. piloted vehicles have 30prims or less). Wearing the prims as an attachment on a point which does not move relative to the vehicle has it's drawbacks though, the prims will behave as if they are phantom (as do all attachments) and so the prims that you do keep for the vehicle should be the ones which define the collision box (think wheels, bumpers and roof if it was a car, wings if it were a aircraft etc).

Most importantly however, experiment with different methods to find what suits you best. As you mentioned you're looking for extremely slow speed, for which non-physical is in it's element. However you also mentioned smooth movement and a non-physical vehicle's movement can appear quite choppy.
