http://rpgstats.com/wiki/ has come up with a database error for ages now... has it been discontinued? I always preferred it for scripting reference than the other wiki..

Rpgstats was(is) a mirror of "the old LSL wiki ".
The old LSL wiki was created by Catherine Omega, and used to live at her site badgeo.com. The old wiki was hosted for a while by Linden Lab, then set loose again and ended up at lslwiki.net. I believe Rpgstats was operated by SL user Thraxis Epsilon, so one might try looking for Thraxis. _____________________

Thanks for the posts
![]() Yes the "other one" I was referring to was the lslwiki but I always found the rpgstats one more user friendly and seemed to have better examples of script use. Probably why LL doesn't like it! ![]() |

Yes, I tend to look at the old lslwiki more often than the current LSL Portal myself. The description of each function is much richer and easier for me to understand, and there tend to be more embedded examples. If I'm looking for information about fairly recent changes, like the llDetectedTouch functions, the newer site is the only place to find it. Otherwise, I prefer the "friendlier" feel of the lslwiki.
Parenthetically, neither site has a particularly helpful collection of sample scripts, in my opinion. There are some lovely things in the script library on both sites, but they are listed alphabetically by title, which means that you have to search the whole list to find a script with a name that might be relevant to whatever you are interested in doing. It would be SO much nicer to have a library organized by what the scripts do. It would also be helpful to have sample scripts cross-referenced with the function descriptions elsewhere in the portal/wiki so that you could see several examples of functions in practice. As it is, many of the examples that are embedded on the function pages give information about syntax but offer little insight about how a function can be used in the broader logical context of a script. I'm really not trying to be snippy about the LSL Portal. Many people have put a lot of work into it. It is a valuable resource and will be more and more so as it evolves. I'm just sharing my Friday morning wish list ....... ![]() _____________________
It's hard to tell gender from names around here but if you care, Rolig = she. And I exist only in SL, so don't ask....
