Hello, Don't know if this is the right forum for this, but here it goes. Since the update to v1.9, I've noticed that non-physics movement, crossing sim borders has become something that normally goes haywire. Flying myself now has become quite nasty. I will continue to fly for about the length of the sim before (I guess) the server catches up with me. When I use a non physics vehicle now, its normal for me to become unseated, I don't often see where the vehicle went. Does anybody know if this is the norm now? I used to enjoy flying around checking out the various places that's springing up, or use a non-physics vehicle to do it in. But now, the only safe way is to teleport to the next sim. Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this. Thank you.

Not tried the non-physical vehicle thing, nor the physical one, but I tend when I cross a border flying to fly about half a sim too. Have you bug reported it?

I have been fiddling with a cross-sim transporter that uses non-physical movement and observed exactly the same symptom. It seems to be directly related to crossing too many borders too quickly.... it seems to occur reliably if I cross to a diagonally adjacent sim (and thus cross 2 borders in quick succession) and it seems to not happen at all if I pause for some period of time in the 10m 'border' region (5 second pause seems to do it... 0.5 seconds does not... I have not experimented with intermediate values yet).
In each case, the next time I moved I lost control and flew about half a sim in a straight line (sometimes underground) before reappearingin approximately the right place and apparently in full control of my movement.
Have not bug reported this yet. I will do so when I get back online.

Some bugs are as old as the world. Non-physical border crossing is one of them. I've had Lindens look for my flying streetcars in between the crack of sims time and time again. I believe it's called 'border fractures'. Some updates make it better, some make it worse, bug stays.
To help you out a little bit (and confirming Jamie's findings): take your vehicle close to the border to cross, then pause, cross the border in small steps, until the center-of-mass is in the next sim, another pause, and then full speed towards the next border to cross. Short pauses in between the small steps help. Your script can automagically handle all of this, no driving skills required. (Credit for the non-physical small-step border-crossing theory goes to Bosozuko Kato - he's a short guy, so he won't be able to take large steps without his pogo shoes.)
Tips: - Cross one border at a time (not diagonally), giving yourself and your vehicle enough time to 'arrive' in the next sim before attempting to cross another border. - Flying higher and lowering visible distance helps (less to rezz). - Do a passenger count after each border crossing. There's border patrol gnomes out there that love to av-knap. - Some borders are worse than others; that's all based on the composition of the grid. I've learned (the hard way) to stay away from some borders, while other borders never cause problems. - Hire hippos to operate your non-physical vehicles.
