I get this feeling that a certain someone knows what i am doing on my side.
She knows when i am taking a picture, seems to know when i am accessing my profile, and fear she's monitoring my IM's.
Is this possible and how can i block it? She gave me an object one time, and told me to wear it, called radar. To me it shows who's around me, but I am beginning to suspect its a tag.
Any ideas?

Well if you have not disabled the "taking a snapshot" sound and animation then she certainly could tell when you are taking a picture. As far as the other part about knowing when you are looking at a profile... I will let someone more familiar with the Emerald Viewer address that. I believe there is a HUD out there that gives this info to the wearer.

if you are on Emerald, and have the True Online Status feature enabled, the emerald client sends a message on a chat channel that can be detected when you open a profile. there's a little script that can listen to that channel and report when you are looking at a profile, and whose profile it is.
turning the True Online Status feature off will also disable people from knowing when you view a profile on that client.
if you auto load web profiles it may be possible to guess when a person views that tab by having the website report the request... I don't remember what info is sent with the request to the web page, but it might be enough to ID an avatar viewing it.

Everyone takes pictures, and it's pretty obvious that they're doing it if they haven't disabled the animation and sound that tells the world. Most people also check profiles of people around them occasionally too. It's a great way to meet people ubobtrusively -- an icebreaker of sorts. There's nothing sinister about it. Except for the general information that is posted publicly for every resident (name, rez date, pay information on file ...), your profile only contains information that you choose to put in it. We regularly advise newbies to use the profile as a way to share information about themselves and -- in the case of profile picks -- as a way to share information about interesting places that they have discovered.
Some of the open source clients like Emerald have added features that let their owners know who is looking at them. To my knowledge, there is no way to listen in on an IM. If you are truly worried about it, I believe that the Emerald viewer even adds an encryption layer to IMs, so they are doubly secure.

I was trying to track down a friend and we were always missing each other, logging in at different times. So I wrote a script to check once a minute to see if they were logged into SL and send me a RL email when they logged on or off. This worked well, but my own code freaked me out. I could use it to do things like stalking someone, to keep tabs on my GF and find out how many hours she spends in-world (she is offended and thinks this is a violation of her privacy) . This works on anyone, even if they are not on your friends list or don't have the notify on-line status bit set. I did a search on xstreet and found at least one product for sale so you don't have to be a scripter. Perhaps someone is keeping tabs on you with one of those.

As far as privacy its a double edged sword. Need to know it someone is seeking private matters, but then again it is offensive. Best to be straight with people and let them know what is going on.

If you are just doing it to see how the code works, fine, but get permission from the person first. Without permission, it's hella creepy.
