Hey folks, I've been learning scripting like crazy, but I'm starting in on some particle effects and I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand.

I'd like to script some things, (blinking avaition lights, contrails, jetflames, ect...) But I have NO idea how to do it. Are there any tutorials or tips that you could give me? Barring that, anyone have any examples or similar scripts for me to work with?

Any help in that matter would be appreciated.

The best thing is to find a particle generator. Trying to write particles directly in script, even if youre a scripter, is like trying to build using RezObject.

There's a reasonable one near Taber. Look for the giant sandcastle and take the lift up.

Be sure to stop by Jopsy Pendragon's particle tutorial at Ethereal Lands in Teal. Take the rocket up 200m and see the best display to show you how to make particles.

HAHAHAHA Az... dude... you need to check out my rezzors. How do you think a normal person would build something as large as the Galleria City... by replicating 600 prims one by one, or by coding a simple for loop?

just type "Particle" in the places finder, it'll direct you to Teal(200,50), the elevator up to the particle lab. :)

(It's up high because, well, folks tend to experiment and leave neighbor-annoying atomic bomb cloud sized particle effects. :)

I found your particle lab a while back, Jopsy, and was very impressed. Then I forgot where it was. Doh!

I've been greatly impressed with your particle lab. Second only to the Ivory Tower of Primitives for a wonderful teaching experience in SL in my opinion. Typing particle into the find places window doesn't seem to work anymore though. I am here but your place seems to have gotten delisted.

Whoops! Must have been a clumsy parcel join that turned that flag off.

The Particle Laboratory should be FINDable again. Thanks for pointing that out Essence!! :)
