How do I stop elevator passengers falling through the floor? It works OK if I sit them but it looks stoopid sitting in an elevator.

If you're making a nonphysical elevator, you will want to keep some form of sitting.

If you want a "real" elevator you can play with making the platform physical. That does force you to worry a little more about clearances between prims so it doesn't get stuck, but it should take care of the falling part.

I like door #1. Physical is too messy keeping the elevator aligned.
I can do a stand up sit for the operator when they push the floor button.
How do I get the passengers to (stand-up) sit?

You can just throw llUnSit at them when you get to the destination.

Sorry, the question was worded badly.
The person who initiates the activity pushes a button. I can make him sit.

But there are "passive" passengers in the elevator. How do I make them sit?

Oh! You can do the usual stop all animations thing (use llGetAnimationList, loop though, llStopAnimation on all of them) then start the built-in animation "stand".

if you need a simple physical elevator script IM me inworld, ive made one that works pretty well, i usually dont have problems with it not fitting in the shaft.
