I had someone put a "title" to my avatar. I had to log off to get it to go away. How do they do that, and why is it possible.
Also I was trapped in a object nearly every time I went to work in a public sandbox. I sent a complaint to Linden about the owners of the object.
Why are people so nasty?

It's possible because there are scripting functions that are useful for other (legitimate) reasons like llSensor(), llDetectedPos(), and llMoveToTarget(), which are the things to make something follow you. Why are people so nasty? Who knows. Your complaint to the Lindens will come without resolution, they have far too many complaints like yours to possibly get to all of them, so, in a few months, you'll get an email telling you that the situation was resloved (maybe), and that's it.
A world of advice: Avoid public sandboxes like it's the PLAGUE. Open search, and search CLASSIFIEDS and PLACES for PRIVATE SANDBOX. There's quite a few of them, and you'll find griefers there too, but at a far less level than at the public ones. Also, another 'solution' to the problem that I used before getting my own land was to search for an empty sim, island if possible, that has build and object entry ON, and autoreturn off, or set to an hour or longer, and then build there. Technically, it's not really proper, but generally, you can get away with it without the owner knowing about it. Just be sure to clean up ALL your prims when you're done, and people who own the land generally wont care, even if they know you're doing it. At the worst, if the owner shows up, just clean up your prims and leave. Typically, if you do that, the owner wont even bother to report you, and even if he did, LL wont do anything about it but tell him to turn on autoreturn. So there's no chance of you getting in trouble for doing it. (Same reason as before, except in your favor this time). Hope that helps

Your prims can endanger the prims of people who pay for the land, so I would not recommend building without permission on someone else's land. If you do, be reasonable. No large prim items.

From: Renee Roundfield Your prims can endanger the prims of people who pay for the land, so I would not recommend building without permission on someone else's land. If you do, be reasonable. No large prim items. Agreed, and above all else, clean up before you leave. In all the time that I did that, I never left a prim behind, never had huge builds.. just a simple sandbox for a (sane) place to work. In the 2 months or so that I did this (pretty much daily), I only got 'busted' once, and I told the land owner I'd clean up and leave which I promptly did. He had no real issue with it (as far as I know... I didnt really stick around to find out!) I just de-rezzed what I had rezzed and left. There's vast amounts of 'unused' land in SL, and plenty of land owners either forget, or aren't bright enough to turn off build and restrict object entry, or set a low autoreturn, which would prevent 'squatting' like that. Besides just an area where it's possible to build, I endeavored to find a location where no one else was. That way, since I'm not permanently rezzing objects, I'm not infringing on someone else's prim count. As far as getting in 'trouble' over it, I highly doubt it. LL doesnt do much about griefers, and they're the ones who chased me out of the public sandboxes to begin with.
