But since scripts look like unreadable bs without the bbs formatting tags, I'm simply not going to.

There's ... but Torley's comments don't exactly raise one's expectations.

(I, on the other hand, would only post something useful now, when there's hope the bad formatting will obscure its, uh, obscurity. ;) )

I hate the lack of proper bbs tags too - and use "quote" to see the code formatted. For long code, I copy/paste into my editor for highlighting... it sucks, but at least we can still share code...

Let's not let bugs get us down too much, whatever they throw at us we'll find a workaround or deal with it.

Search threads for GreasMonkey, and you wont have this problem.

But everyone else will... right? No point if I can see it but everybody else viewing it does not. So, yes it's clever, but no it's not a solution. I hope you see my point on that.

It seems to be characteristic of LL that they take something that was working fine, break it, and then leave it broken. The name system for new registrants is another example.

As I understand it, this is the story:
- LL runs vBulletin forums. They are using version 3.0.5, which very outdated. (It's from 2004 - current version is 3.6.x)
- At some point, someone figured out that vBulletin 3.0.5 is vulnerable to a cross-site scripting attack.
- Rather than upgrade vBulletin to the current version to patch the flaw, LL has decided to simply disable the feature. This saves LL US$30, because vBulletin only gives you free upgrades for a year.

As for me, this actually has already stopped me from posting scripts to the library.

If LL ever decide to fix the forums, page me, I promise I'll post something good :)

I really don't understand why ppl won't try to work with what we have. Sure the forum can be greatly improved by upgrading and enabling us to use code, url and other bb tags. But just because a system isn't perfect we shouldn't stop using it. Hell, SL would be empty if we all stopped using it because of the bugs.

Stop whining and post your brilliant code. If someone is interested in it, they'll use quote to view your code indented.

its the point of it, that a 2 day upgrade turned into almost 3 months, long enugh for someone to write a firefox plugin just so ppl can read without having to decipher the tags that the BB should

my god its a Fin forum, its amazing that they cant get this fixed in a timley manner and yet somehow manage to slap a virtual world together

thats like going to the moon, and forgetting how to walk once your there

Not a chance. The value transaction should be two-way. It really was brilliant code tho ;)
