Hey guys, I'm a manager at the SL club Diamondz, I am trying to make some curtains. I have created them, they look great, and they are flexi. I also made them transparent. Now I know I can use an alpha texture to make them transparent and physical, but I would rather them not be physical. Is there some script that can give it a little "wiggle in the wind."

Textures with Alpha have nothing to do with whether or not the object is physical. And in order to be flexi, it _has_ to be phantom anyway.

"wind" is one option you can turn up on the flex options in the edit menu. it will increase/decrease the effect of sl's wind on your object. granted though, it doesn't always flap in the wind like you'd want, but just kinda blows stiff in whatever direction the wind's going at the time. experimenting with the tension and such can sometimes help a little. this will probably be enough to get the effect you need. g'luck! :D

It would be possible to script it such that it applies a force of a random or cycling strength in either a random direction or in a specific direction (simulate wind blowing in through open window for example). However, this would not be an optimum solution, you'd need one script per prim, doing a full update (i.e. llSetPrimitiveParams([FLEXIBLE_PATH ) every timer call (though it could also be tied in with a small Wind value in the flexible path settings) which would lead to lag, not something your club patrons would appreciate for a little-noticed effect.

To recap, stick with Wind in the edit-window > features tab > flexible path options, quicker, easier, cheaper and less lag.
