Most guns, weapons, and some other items I've encountered so far have required mouselook to use. Is there a way to modify a script as to allow usage of a weapon without having to be in mouselook?

Thanks.

There's nothing requiring mouselook to rez an object - it's just a very convenient way to aim.

Alright. I'll have to look into these scripts to see what makes them function only in mouselook and try to modify that to work outside of mouselook then :).

Quick hint on that: It's the control they use to "fire". ;)

I've seen "joke" weapons that take chat commands like "drop phantom piano on Joe Avatar" but that hardly seems sporting if you are making gun like objects. You could also just have a gun that shot in all directions at once, sort of like a fragmentation grenade (see sportsmanship reference above).

What I've always wondered is why weapon makers are so fixated on gun-like shapes. As far as I know, a ring, hair, bracelet, etc. could shoot as well as a BFG and be way more 007ish.

Eep! Did I just create a market?

Well, my original question was in regard to a scripted object I made that I wanted to be throw-able. I got it down, though, thanks to Jillian Callahan :)

Dunno where they came from, but I've got some minigun sunglasses burried in my inventory somewhere. :p
