I have written a tutorial article on Rotations in Second Life, based on my experience buidling a windmill that turns to face into the wind.

It has been written for people who are trying to come to grips with rotations, and for those who have avoided rotations because they’ve heard of the complexity, ie quaternions.

It covers the use of llSetRot llSetLocalRot llSetPos llSetLocalPos, a bit on llTargetOmega, in root prims and in children.

Available in pdf and htm versions at:

http://eowyn.bigpondhosting.com/SecondLife.html

I would appreciate any corrections and feedback.

Edited to fix the link.

I haven't read the tutorials yet, but am sure many people will benefit from and appreciate them.

However I do have a nitpicking point. The url should be either :

A) http://eowyn.bigpondhosting.com/
or
B) http://eowyn.bigpondhosting.com/SecondLife.html

Thank you Clover for taking the time to do this. Rotations seem needlessly complicated and this is really helpful.
