Both are attachments I am trying to have communicate with each other. I have llGetOwner() in there now as the key, and that does not seem to work. I want the one object to only listen to other objects I own. Is there an easy way to do this? Is there some limit I am unaware of where linked parts cannot communicate with each other? If so, does this count for HUD, where my HUD cannot communicate with other attachments?

If all of the objects are within the same simulator, you can do this:
CODE
AFAIK, there's no way to do an owner-check for objects who's messages originate from outside the simulator. ==Chris _____________________

Could always tag the data being sent with the owner and parse it out, though. That would work for most things, albiet with a tiny hit in performance. _____________________

That would be rather easy to fake, though. Well, you can obfuscate it a fair bit if you want. I actually came up with a system like that once. Not saying its unbreakable, but it wouldn't be casually broken - even if you knew what channel the items were communicating on. Time stamps, key pairs, That assumes security is an issue though - I got the sense that the original poster was more concerned with multiple items being able to exist in close proximity without confusion, for which security isn't really an issue. _____________________
