Morning all,
I'm creating an object that can be shot by as many different guns as possible. If possible I'd like to hardcode all the common names for bullets.
So, what's yours called?

I recently started messing around with a prim spitter myself, I name the prim bullet after what it does....
like a 'bullet' named "P100d" would be a push with 100% dmg (and it looks like it says PLOOD which is kind of funny) My favorite though is ph00d - push homing no dmg (also ph100d) Most people though just name them Bullet or bullet.... I just got sick of looking at 20 individual prims all named bullet and wondering which I needed durring the testing phase... |

I put a script in mine that randomizes their names on_rez(). Things like "Bob", "Mary", and "George" are on the list.
(Not really. I don't make bullets.) _____________________

I've seen a lot of projectiles named "Bump". Most of them have an avatar push effect on contact, though I've also seen them spawn cages and do other weirdness.
I don't really condone using the name Bump, though. "Bullet" is more descriptive. If you want more poetry in your naming, try "high-velocity litter". _____________________

mine are called adjpush bullet, adjkill bullet, adjpush bullet debug, dummy bullet, and I had a '5x5m push bullet' there for a while but having half a dozen 5M^2 cubes rezzed at speed causes the firer to be pushed back into the next sim so it went away... (but it did get rid of that annyoing giant physical toilet that was in the sandbox at the time)

LOL,
Sounds like to many variations to deal with. Looks like my idea of a generic target might be a problem. Oh for llDetectedDamage(x). Thanks all. _____________________
