I am working on a texture changing script,
1. Can you set permissions on textures stored in the objects contents?
2. If so, do you need to allow copy permission on them in order for the script to work?
3. If you cannot do the above, what is there to prevent people from taking your textures?
Thanks.

1. Yes, you can set permission on Objects/Textures inside a prim. Just right click on the Object and choose properties. 2. No, Copy permission is not required to view the texture on the prim. 3. Any texture displayed in-world can be taken via a Snapshot.. so regardless of what you do it CAN be taken.. the trick is to not make it too easy for them. I hope this helps

In many cases you can avoid putting actual textures inside the object and instead write the script to use the texture's UUID. You can get a texture's UUID by right clicking on it in your inventory. Then use this info in your script, rather than the texture's name.
Works for most purpose, unless you don't know beforehand what textures will be used.
