Lag between objects

Hi,

Sorry to keep posting questions on here while I still get to grips with things...

I have (with the help of people on here) got an automatic door script working. These are two doors that operate Star Trek style and part as you approach them.

I have tried to make the sensor part two ways to see which is best based on help given here. One is a simple Touch object you walk into tha then turns phantom and calls the doors to open, the other uses the sensor command to detect approaching AV's and calls the doors in the same way. Both doors are listening to the same channel and so a single call is put out and both hear it.

I have noticed there is a noticeable gap of at least 0.5 to 1 second between either of the sensors activating and the doors opening. This I am guessing is due to the listening scripts not being totaly in sync with the sensor.

Is there a way to reduce this lag at all and get the doors to open quicker or is this just a limit of how SL lets sripts communicate between with each other. I.e the more they try and do it the more sim lag you will get but the faster things operate. Or you go for less sim lag but slower operation.

I hope that makes sense of what I am trying to ask and understand.

Sorry again for all my questions recently.

Thanks everyone.

chatted messages are going to be slower than a link message, or something internal to the door script itself.
