Ill assume it's a symptom of this, https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-917 see my note near the bottom...

"<" followed by a non-breaking character (like oh, I dunno, a number that you would have in a vector or a rotation?) causes NOT FOUND ... inserting a space seems to work...

other symptoms include sql command word sequences (regardless of capitalization, or intevening words) code causes one of these wo I've been defaulting to PHP tags instead of CODE tags

There are some character combinations which currently cause problems with posting, whether it is the start of a new thread or not. Anything that has the right combination of SQL keywords seems to cause an issue, and apparently angle brackets are also problematic all of a sudden. There seems to be a difference between submitting a new post and editing an existing one, however. So sometimes when you can't submit a new post you can make it a short one, then edit it and paste in the whole content you really want to post. It may take hitting the back button and then trying the save once or twice, but it'll work after a try or two in my experience.

hmm, i've been trying to post for weeks and could not, asked live help and they said they are "aware of problems with the forums and addressing it" with no time for a fix.

:0 i'd also had the posting prob - as suggested by a few others, the solution for me was to go to my forum preferences and select using the 'BASIC' entry editor instead of WYSIWYG.

Most people frown on cross-posting, but I think this is one issue for which I think it's justified. We need to keep posting versions of this thread among the forums until somone either (a) creates a standard sticky thread or (b) FIXES THE PROBLEM!!!!

Just to clarify, I do know that they are aware of it and I do know that they are not addressing it. I pinged Blue about it a couple of weeks ago with the bracket/space problem, mentioning that it was impossible for a new person to post a script fragment with a rotation or vector and ask for help. He replied that they had no one that they could assign to the problem. This translates to "Too f@cking bad! You are going to have to wait for the new forum!"

apparently they don't have anyone that knows php or sql!?

I'll write up a the damn sticky and ping someone who still has mod powers and read/test the known failure modes to include int it.... (I mentioned propagating a sticky to all the sub forums weeks ago.)

Well my issue went beyond a few special characters that triggered it, nothing would post for some reason, but for no apparent reason does now, so who knows.

Is there a problem starting new threads here?
