I am trying to scan for an avitar or whatever is in front of me up to 10 meters away.

I am using these lines

llSensor("", "", ACTIVE | AGENT | PASSIVE | SCRIPTED, 16.0, TWO_PI);
llWhisper(0,llDetectedKey(0));
when the wisper goes off I get..

"whispers: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000"

Yes this is to be used in a gentle push script.. No it is not meant for griefing, more for theatrics.

now my question is.. Why do I not scan for the key?

I do not want to have to tell the script a name to scan, it should just figure out who and or what is infront of me.

Any help?

Try taking out | SCRIPTED.

If you only want the person then actually you only need AGENT in there.

Thanks,

As always you people have come through. I can't say that I fully understand
everything about the sensors but I can now change the values and learn what they do.

My scan now works!!

lol now all I need to do is figure everything else out.

Thanks again
