Yes, my system is entirely SL-based. Oh, sure, it emails my RL account with data I can then pull into a MySQL database, but that's just gravy, and not important to the auto-update part.
Yes, my system is dependent on the 'Master Inventory Computer' being in-world, and always having the same UUID. You can think of it as the Achille's Heel of my system, but it's never caused me a problem yet. Frankly, I don't know of a way around that dependency, given what LSL gives us.
Yes, I have my system tied into my vendor system, but again, that part is gravy, and not important to the auto-update feature. Easy to get rid of that part. And since my idea is to license fully-modable source code, you could change any part of it you like.
