I have been using Builder's Buddy for several months now and it has worked extremely well. My last 2 builds however have been getting script errors by my customers when rezzing the structures via the the rez box on their land. After the structure rezzes, a script error icon appears over the rez box. The structure rezzes correctly and is functional (doors, etc) but I'd rather not have any errors. This started happening with newer client versions but I don't know if it is related. Anyone else experiencing this and/or have a solution?

I've used it lately and not seen problems. What error is the script getting?

I am not sure. All I see is an error icon over the rez box. I think it has an exclamation mark on it. I am not in world at the moment but can show you sometime if possible.

Hey Skye, welcome to the forums! If you turn on View Script Errors (I think that's in the View menu, if not it's probably in tools) you will be able to see the actual text of the error. I think you can also see it if you just click on the little error bubble.

From: Skye Tracer I am not sure. All I see is an error icon over the rez box. I think it has an exclamation mark on it. I am not in world at the moment but can show you sometime if possible. if you double click that script warning icon, the script bug window pop ups so you can read the error message and copy&paste it from there

Hi and thank you. I am not sure if I will be able to view the error because it only happens when someone else rezzes the structure. It works perfectly for me. I need someone to rez my last couple of builds to help me troubleshoot. They are small and only 3 prims. I used the scripts on these because it has a door.

I had someone rez the structure and this is the error:
Missing inventory item ''
I never get the error. Everyone else does, even on their own land.
I have tried repackaging and verified the permissions without success. I even compared it to other rez boxes that do not produce the error. At this point I have no idea what is causing the error.

The best way to resolve these kind of problems is testing it with an Alt.

EDIT: Sorry, I did not realize when I responded here that this thread was so old. But the information may still be useful to others.
I just saw a similar discussion to this over on the SLExchange Forum. That person was actually finding all or some objects missing from the rezzer box. I'm speculating that this also could be that the SL database was slow to respond and/or momentarily lost some objects that had to be rezzed.
I assume when one tries to rezz an object, the server from that sim quiries the database for the information on that object, if the server does not already have that information in its memory. If the database is slow or has trouble finding the item, you may get the "object missing from database" error.
Some people complained of objects going missing from the contents of the rezzer box after the first rezz. The only time I have had objects fail to rezz a second time for a customer is when I had a script in an object or the object it self with no copy permissions.
If you use Builder's Buddy it has the option of setting the rezzer box so it can only be used only once. A bad choice in my opinion given the number of times SL messed up.
I have not experienced the "object missing from database" error, but that gives me a hint regarding an experience I have had. Occasionally I have seen a rezzer box pause after rezzing some of its contents, then rezz the rest of them after the pause. My guess is that this is the database being slow to find and rezz some objects. This usually happens on the first attempt to use a rezzer box that has not been used in a while. The rezzer boxes seem to work fine on second or later attempts. So its kind of like once the sim has the database information refreshed, then it will work fine.
I have had similar problems with rezzer boxes, where items rezz but stick at the box location instead of moving into position. This is almost always on the first attempt to rezz. And usually works fine on the second or later attempt. I'm guessing here that the data base is having trouble finding the rezzer script in the rezzed object that tells it where to move to. Once the sim has more time to find the script in the database and load it into the sim server, then the rezzer works fine. I have been seeing this problem more and more frequently in SL. A possible sign of the servers having trouble keeping up with the load.
For the longest time I was trying to figure out what I had done wrong. Now I'm beginnning to think its SL that is acting buggy in these instances.
I'd appreciate hearing any other opinions on what causes these problems.

I have experienced the "Object Missing from database" on a couple rez boxes and that object was *really* missing! It could not be rezzed from the original rez box, a backup copy in inventory, the (boxed) version that is sold - anywhere! I had the build in world, so the object was not totally gone and I was able to rebuild the rez boxes.
The slow time on an initial rez has been noticed too, exactly as you describe. Eventually, the pieces go to their correct positions/rotations and after that first time, they are a little quicker. While this goes on, I watch the Pending Downloads in the Statistics Bar and once it is 0, the build is usually rezzed where it belongs.

builders buddy .. Reattempting rez of most recent piece
10-07-2008 12:28
Hi I have had the builders buddy for awhile now with no problems. I used it as little as 3 days ago with no problems as usual but this evening when i used it i get a partial REZ and then this message repeating constantly and the build frozen in part :Reattempting rez of most recent piece.... (some sort of timeout thing in the script i have never experienced) I have sent this to my alt and the same result has occured..tried other sims etc.. The only difference i am thinking is that i was forced to upgrade finally from client 1.19 tonight to the latest due to LL fixes or something.. Has anyone had similar issues all of a sudden ..
Would love to hear other peoples thoughts on this matter
Thank you Tango Bingyi

Lots Of Problems Rezzing
10-08-2008 11:37
I've been using Builder's Buddy for a couple of months with no problems. Suddenly yesterday, I had a customer complain that they couldn't rezz a house I sold to them, and a friend couldn't rezz one of my builds, either. The customer was able to finally get it working today but the house I made for my friend is just not working with the builder's buddy. When I try to rezz the house, it works perfectly. Anyone else (including my alt) gets a script error, a partial rezz, and an incomplete menu. If I find any answers I will share them here If anyone can offer some help I would greatly appreciate it!
