Just a quick check, llAllowInventoryDrop in a child prim doesn't work for just that child correct?

I think it does, but wish it didn't..
IIRC, it's all per-prim. If you have a multi-prim object, there doesn't seem to be any way to say "drop stuff into the root, regardless of which prim the release on." |

I read that if you all inventory drop in the root prim, textures dropped in a child go to the child, but other things like notecards go into the root.

Yeah, I've been experimenting with it, haven't been able to get it to work right, but SL has been acting very strange tonight, so will try again later.

I've been working with this as well. What I have found is that objects and textures will go into the child prim, and everything else goes into the root no matter what prim you drop them on. I wish they would all just go into the child, because I could write a function to send the items to the root prim, but some going to one place, and some to another is really wacky.

Are you testing this as the owner (or someone who can edit the object), or as another resident? That might well make a difference.

Well, I got it to work properly. Took some doing, and testing. The Wiki does say that textures dropped into a child prim will stay there, notecards go to the parent prim. This was one of the few problems that I had to test, just to make sure.
Another thing to be aware of is that in order to drop into a child prim, you MUST turn on drop in both the main AND child you wish the drop to happen in. If you do not, it will not allow you to drop things in. Just be aware that if you want something to be dropped into a child prim, you must turn on allow drop in the pain prim as well. |

you must turn on allow drop in the pain prim as well. Not sure if that was a typo or an observation, either way I got a good laugh ![]() _____________________
