I have an object which is no modify- it rezzes half a meter in the air and when I try to move it to its proper place, the script in it WON'T move so it doesn't work-BUT I now have its floating hovertext hanging around even with the object deleted, and TWICE. How do I get rid of the text? I can't add a scrubber script as there's a) no object and b) if there was, it would be no mod anyway?

Sounds like the object is rezzing another object that have the hovertext on it. They showing invisible or dragging the selection tool over the area. There is something else there that you don't see.

*hangs head in shame* Dammit, I should have thought of that-I was just searching in the contents of the object that I can't READ...it WAS an invisible prim..thanks! Now I just have to find out how I can move the damn thing WITH that invisible script object moving WITH it-I can't reset any scripts as it's no mod....

just rez the object, then drag-select them both and move 'em down using the arrows.

Yes, I feel totally silly, I figured it out now. I just somehow thought the hovertext belonged to the visible object when in fact the object rezzed an invisible object with hovertext...I just assumed whatever it was was linked when it wasn't...I had the "hovertext remaining without object" problem before and thought this would be the same....
