Is a Teleport gun Possible?

Anyone out there know if it is possible to create a teleporting gun (i.e. you shoot someone and they are teleported to a shooter-set location)

If so, how could this be done? I've tried using basic tele scripts, but couldn't override any "safeties" such as permission or the cancel button.

Either reply to this post, or send details to Bluefalcon Valois (if I'm not online, it'll go straight to my email)

No. Well, not a non-consensual one. You could have a gun which offered a teleport location to someone, but they would have to click "teleport" to go there.

If you are the parcel landowner...you can make a gun shoot a bullet that, when it collides with an avatar also on your parcel, taht avatar is sent home or ejected from your parcel. You could not specify a location to teleport them to, only choose whether they are ejected or returned 'home'.

Otherwise, what Ordinal said.

Hmmm,
The projectile thats fired moves to the target as phantom.
When it reaches them expands to surround them (i.e. cage round) and makes itself non phantom.
It then moves itself with them 'trapped' inside to the required location?

without knowing more about exactly what you want, Kenn Nielson's suggestion is the most feasible.

one idea that should work, but doesnt, would be to shoot a bullet and during the collision event, call llLoadMapUrl(). However, function can only be called in response to a touch event.

newgate: that could be a fun idea, but as far as a teleporter its not going to work very well. at best, you use physical movement and the avatar gets bumped around, like say in an elevator that you aren't sitting on.
