Can you set up a listener in a script and hear chat from a llSay command in another script in the same object? I am thinking the answer is no, but I can't find it documented anywhere. So thought I would see if anyone knows the answer for sure.

A prim cannot hear itself. Different prims in the same object can hear one another.

You might want to try llMessageLinked() though.
