Sorry for the name. tried keeping as short as possible, with understanding to it.
I am also sorry if this has been posted already..
I am trying to make a flexi with a ball on the end of it (the end is free) and want the ball to "stick" with that end like it was part of the flexi... how would I do this?

Thank you for any help, ahead of time,
the always curious Neko-jin - Eiji Mayo

I believe that the flexi part of flexi prims is a client side effect, which does not really
happen in the server. If this is correct, I suppose it won't be possible to
attach a prim to the tail of a flexi prim, since this would have to be done already in the server.

If you make a longish hollow cylinder flexi, apply a non-alpha channel texture to the interior surface, and then apply an alpha channel texture on the exterior surface, you can get the effect of a flexible rod with a cylindrical bead on the end. The exterior texture must be transparent except for a band along one edge. That opaque band will be the bead's texture. If you put the opaque band anywhere but the bottom, you'll have to rotate or flip the texture to get it so that the bead appears on the end. A bit of smart texturing in the opaque band will get the cylindrical surface to suggest more of a rounded bead, but as I've done it, it's not entirely satisfactory.

The top and bottom surfaces of the cylinder will need to be either transparent or opaque, according to your usage.

One problem with this technique is that the interior surface will look hollow upon close examination, but this effect seems to dwindle at a distance.

The result will be--in simplest form--a long flexible rod with a cylindrical bead on its end that moves appropriately with the rod's end.
