Sensor delay?

I have a sensor command, looking for an object, just before a particle command. The idea is to fire the particle at the object once it's located. I activate the whole thing by touching a prim. It seems I have to touch the prim twice to give the sensor time to find the object. Am I correct in assuming it may take a few seconds for the sensor to find my object? Should I put a brief pause in the script before I fire up the particle?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Sorry if this is obvious... are you calling llParticleSystem within the sensor event handler? The sensor event shouldn't fire without having found any objects (no_sensor will fire instead)

Ohhhh... so I should fire the particles inside the sensor handler? What a novel idea! ~bops self on the head for overlooking something so obvious~

Thank you!
