Mysterious Floating Text

Came out of my home yesterday, and noticed some mysterious floating text, in red, which simply said 'Stopped'.

It looks like some script has stopped, said my friendly neighbour, who came and rezzed a MegaScanner. 'This will find it' he said, and he scanned, both for Active Scripts and passive Scripts, but there was nothing in the area that this text was floating above.

I have zoomed in but could not see anything, looked inside walls, turned on and off Highlight Transparent and Wireframe, but cannot see what is generating this text.

Does anyone have any idea how I can find what is causing this?

You need to scan the passive objects either because if the script has been removed then the title will remain.

one fun thing about floating text, is that it will stick around even if the script that set it is removed.

Once you track down the prim with the offending text, and assuming it has no script inside, there are some neat little self-destructing scripts you can grab from the SL wiki to clean up. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Remove_Prim_Properties

Yes, floating text, like particles stays even if you remove the script. So you have a prim with floating text and no script inside. Solution: Return objects that you don't own.

Okies, a nice forum member passing by found it for me.

There was an invisible wall, and the offending scripts were inside it (don't ask me how they got there!). They were a bunch of particle generators, and were stopped. All the scripts were deleted, and the nice man then inserted a script that set all Particle params to NULL, and set all Text to null string (his words, not mine).

That did it, and I was going to ask why that script needed to be inserted when all the offending scripts had been deleted, but I see form the previous posts the answer to that has already been given.

Thanks to all, especially the nice man, who knows who he is :)
