Hi! any help/tips/suggestion much appreciated...

In your opinion, is it possible to make a particle system following a non-linear path?

Thanks!

You can try to achieve this with a combination of burst-speed and acceleration of the particles - as this works over the lifetime you can achieve a curved path, but it depends on the type of path you need if it will work for you.

The path is something like a sinusoidal wave: going down, then up, then down again during his lifetime...

Move the object the particles are originating from up + down. Look up the Particle Laboratory in world.
