I'm sure there isn't but thought I would ask... is there a way to get an object to return itself to owner (other than STATUS_RETURN_AT_EDGE of sim, or having a landowner do it.)

I don't think there's a direct script function to do so, no. I suppose the object could go physical and shoot itself above 4000m though...

llDie () Granted that all temporal things are fleeting, and even more so in the virtual world, but llDie() is return to *God*, which is a bit more immediate than I had in mind :} |

It should go into your "deleted items". You can restore from there.

Check STATUS_RETURN_AT_EDGE. Not sure whether it's specifically for when objects go off-world.

An object can attach itself to the owner and then detach, returning itself to the owner's inventory in the Objects folder.

No it doesn't. Sorry, you are so right. Sticking my head out again, possibly the object could ask to attach to you, and that seems to make an inventory entry. It could then detach and die () in the changed event. I have a hud that behaves that way when I click its close button. |

Detach is sufficient.

Check STATUS_RETURN_AT_EDGE. Not sure whether it's specifically for when objects go off-world. http://www.lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=llSetStatus&show_comments=1 use that with llVolumeDetect and setting the object as physical, and it will fall below the ground, getting returned to your inventory (usually) this is very reliable in low-lag situations, but in areas where the sim FPS has dropped significantly along with the time dilation it can get deleted without being returned _____________________
